Buk Up

TERMS OF SERVICE

Last updated: [date]

1. Who we are

Buk Up ("the app", "the service") is operated by [your full name], as a živnostník (OSVČ, self-employed sole trader) registered in the Czech Republic. If you have any questions about these terms, you can contact us from the app.

2. What Buk Up is

Buk Up is a language-learning application built around an active recall method: you write your own translation of a word, an AI corroborator validates whether it's correct, and you reinforce that word through repetition. The service organizes vocabulary into three grammatical categories (verbs, nouns, and adjectives).

3. Your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old to create a Buk Up account.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must provide truthful information when registering (at least a valid email address).
  • If you notice unauthorized use of your account, please let us know from the app as soon as possible.

4. Acceptable use

By using Buk Up, you agree to:

  • Use the service only for personal language-learning purposes.
  • Not abuse the AI corroborator — for example, by sending automated, bulk, or malicious content that isn't real vocabulary with the intent to overload the service, generate unnecessary costs, or exploit the system.
  • Not attempt to access other users' accounts or administrative parts of the service you are not authorized to use.
  • Not use the service in a way that interferes with its normal operation or with other users' experience.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these conditions.

5. Service plans

Buk Up offers a free plan (Free) and a paid plan (Pro), which differ in saved-word limits, the number of languages available at the same time, and additional features. Current plan details are available on the app's pricing page. We may modify the features included in each plan; if you have an active subscription, we will give you reasonable advance notice of any change that affects you.

6. The AI corroborator is not infallible

The AI corroborator is a learning-support tool, not an absolute source of truth. While we aim for its validations and corrections to be accurate, it may occasionally make mistakes, like any AI-based tool. We do not guarantee that every validation, conjugation, or suggested antonym is 100% correct, and we recommend using your own judgment, especially at more advanced language levels.

7. Service availability

We do our best to keep Buk Up available and working properly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may temporarily suspend access for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Buk Up will not be liable for:

  • Specific learning outcomes (we do not guarantee you will learn a language to any particular level or at any particular speed).
  • Occasional errors from the AI corroborator.
  • Interruptions, data loss, or technical failures beyond our reasonable control.
  • Indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service.

9. Ownership of your content

The words and translations you save in your personal dictionary belong to you. You grant us a limited license to store and process them in order to provide the service, including their use in a shared, anonymized cache of validations (see the Privacy Policy for more detail).

10. Account termination

You may cancel your account at any time from your profile settings or by contacting us from the app. We may also suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data after cancellation.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through a visible notice in the app before they take effect.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. Any dispute related to the use of the service will be submitted to the competent courts of the Czech Republic, unless applicable consumer protection law grants you other rights.
